Will the brightness of LED lights decay over time?

The brightness of LED lights does gradually decrease over time.

-Light source aging: Over time, the efficiency of LED chips and phosphors may decrease, leading to a decrease in light efficiency. For example, a 5W LED bulb that originally had a luminous flux of 500 lumens may only have 400 lumens left after a period of time.
-Heat dissipation issue: If the heat dissipation design of LED lighting fixtures is poor or if the heat dissipation material such as thermal conductive silicone grease dries, it will affect the export of heat, causing the LED chip temperature to be too high, thereby accelerating brightness attenuation.
-The stability of current and voltage: Unstable current or inappropriate voltage can have adverse effects on the brightness and lifespan of LED lamps. Ensuring that the LED lights are properly connected and fastened to the lamp holder, as well as ensuring that the driver is working properly, is the key to maintaining brightness.
-Environmental temperature: LED lighting fixtures exhibit different aging conditions at different environmental temperatures. Under extreme temperature conditions, whether it is too high or too low, it may accelerate the aging process of LED products.

In order to prolong the service life of LED lights and maintain their brightness as much as possible, it is recommended to regularly clean and inspect the lighting fixtures to ensure good heat dissipation conditions and avoid exposing them to extreme temperature conditions.
