What is Indoor badminton court lighting scheme design?

Indoor badminton court lighting scheme design

  1. Badminton court standards

The badminton court is 13.40 meters long, the doubles court is 6.10 meters wide, the singles court is 5.18 meters wide, the doubles court is 14.723 meters diagonal length, the singles court is 14.366 meters diagonal length. A rectangular court evenly divided by a net (1.55 m high on both sides and 1.524 m high in the middle).

The badminton court is divided horizontally into two halves by the center line; The vertical is divided into front, center and back. The front court is the area of court between the front service line and the net; The backcourt is the area of court between the end line and the back service line of doubles. Center court is the field between the front service line and the back service line of doubles.

According to the regulations of international competition, the minimum space over the entire field is 9 meters, within this height, there must be no beams or other obstacles. There must be no obstructions within 2 meters of the court. There should be a minimum distance of 2 metres between any two parallel courses.

Two, badminton court lighting characteristics

The lighting of badminton hall usually adopts three forms: natural lighting, artificial lighting and mixed lighting with both at the same time. Most of the modern badminton courts are mixed lighting, of which the artificial lighting of the badminton court is general lighting. In the design of the badminton hall, to make the players accurately judge the path, height and landing point, the first is to maximize the use of natural light, the effect of natural light is the best, of course, to prevent glare, can not let too strong light directly or reflected into the eyes. Secondly, it is to increase the stability of illumination and the uniformity and coordination of distribution. This is very important not only for the athletes to achieve excellent results, but also for the accurate judgment of the referee and the appreciation of the audience.

Three, the influencing factors of badminton court lighting quality

1) Illuminance level: Whether the illuminance reaches the standard.

Generally speaking, the vertical illuminance should be greater than 1/2 of the horizontal illuminance, when the vertical illuminance is equal to the horizontal illuminance, the movement of the environment is the most ideal. The illumination requirements of the badminton court are as follows:

2) Lighting uniformity: Whether the illumination of the sports field is uniform.

The uniformity of illumination is used to measure the viewing conditions inside the venue. Uniformity refers to the venue should be uniformly irradiated, should not appear too bright or too dark areas, in order to provide good visual conditions for athletes, spectators, referees. For example, for television broadcasting, when the camera takes a panoramic view of the competition area, the illuminance cannot change greatly, otherwise it will cause the camera exposure.

3) Glare: whether glare is obvious.

Glare is another important factor in evaluating the quality of lighting, and the generation of glare is related to the installation method of lamps, installation height, the number and installation density of lamps, and the light distribution of lamps.

When there is too high brightness contrast in the field of vision, people will feel dazzling, thus affecting people’s visibility. If you look at the sun at noon on a sunny day, you will feel that you cannot open your eyes, which is the glare caused by excessive brightness.

The glare of the badminton court is direct glare, due to the low ceiling, the light source is very dazzling when the sports personnel exercise, and the eyes are uncomfortable for a long time, which seriously affects the athletes to observe the movement of the ball.

4) Brightness ratio: color and brightness difference between the object and the background.

The eye can distinguish the object on the background, to have one of two conditions, that is, the background and the object of the color is different, or the background and the object have a certain brightness contrast. If the object is brighter and the background is slightly darker, the better the vision; Conversely, if the background is brighter than the object, the vision will be significantly reduced. When the lighting conditions are very poor, especially the lack of brightness difference, it may cause false visual phenomena, distort the perceived object, and have an adverse effect on the judgment of important information.

The badminton color is white, and the background wall is white, which will cause the sports personnel to not see the ball clearly. In order to increase the color difference between the badminton and the background wall, the light and shadow effect of the lamp is used to reduce the brightness of the background wall. The opaque lampshade can be used to block the shadow of the lampshade onto the wall, while the other part of the light is illuminated to the ground, and the reflection is illuminated to the stadium, thereby reducing the brightness of the background wall, making the contrast between the badminton and the background large, so that the vision of badminton is clearer.

5) Lighting stability: whether there is stroboscopic.

The stability of lighting directly affects people’s health, and unstable lighting can lead to reduced vision of athletes. The lighting stability is mainly reflected in the stroboscopic effect. Stroboscopic is due to the periodic change of current when AC power supply, while the luminous flux will also change periodically, making people observe the moving object caused by the illusion. Periodic changes of current cause instability of light source. Resulting in obvious stroboscopic artificial lighting. When observing the movement of badminton, you can see a relatively fuzzy shadow with low resolution.
